Lappeenranta basic education’s Uniori (Etusivu - Lappeenranta Junior University -https://www.uniori.fi/ ) study module has been updated to include the Clean Water - study module for third graders (3. luokka - Lappeenranta Junior University). In Uniori activities, 3rd graders learn about two main themes: Clean Water and Circular Economy. In the Clean Water - study module, students learn about the forms of water and the water cycle in nature, as well as household wastewater, water consumption, and sewage etiquette. The Clean Water module consists of a water day and tasks. The learning module is implemented in schools during the fall semester. Here is the link to the Clean Water -study module: UNIORI 3.-luokka - Puhdas vesi in Finnish. We suggest interested persons use the European Commission's e-translation tool https://translation.ec.europa.eu/tools-and-resources/ai-translation-and-language-tools_en to translate the module into any of the 27 official languages of the European Union.
In the Circular Economy - study module, students learn the basics of the circular economy, such as sorting, product lifecycles and sustainable use of products. The Circular Economy module has been developed in collaboration with South Karelia Waste Management. The learning module is implemented in schools during the spring semester.
