Overview of the Teacher Training Event
The Baltic Living Lab serves as the Horizon SHORE project resource center for the Baltic Region. On October 8th, we will be hosting a teacher training event aimed at attracting interest from educators across Estonia. The event is aimed at offering a unique opportunity for educators to receive teacher training in Estonian that will enhance their teaching methods through engaging presentations and hands-on activities.
Methodology and Structure
The event employs a multifaceted approach to teacher training, incorporating a variety of instructional methods to engage participants effectively. The structured program is designed to facilitate both outdoor demonstrations about water quality testing and hands-on collaboration amongst the attendees. This mix of presentations and interactive discussions allows for rich exchanges of ideas and practices in nature education.
Delivered by Estonian nature education experts and active teachers, the program was carefully crafted to provide not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills. Participants can actively engage with the material, fostering an environment of learning and innovation. The combination of outdoor activities and group discussions ensured a comprehensive and enjoyable learning experience.
Main Insights and Future Directions
The teacher training event intends to yield valuable insights into effective teaching methodologies within nature education. Feedback from participants underscored the need for similar training programs in the future, particularly evaluated as a “spring season” initiative. The sharing of best practices and innovative strategies enable educators to leave with new perspectives they are able to implement in their classrooms.
Hosted as a deliverable of workpackage 2 of the Horizon SHORE project.
