Climate-Neutral Blue Cities by 2030: Accelerating Local Change under the EU Cities and Ocean Missions Conference March 19-20

The Municipality of Limassol, with the support of the Cyprus Institute (CyI), and under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus of the Council of the EU 2026, is pleased to invite your organisation to participate in the International Conference "Climate-Neutral Blue Cities by 2030: Accelerating Local Change under the EU Cities and Ocean Missions”, taking place on 19 and 20 March 2026 at The Warehouse by IT Quarter, in Limassol.

Organised in the framework of the European Mission for 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030, with the support of the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters, the Conference will serve as a landmark platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and showcasing innovation in areas such as:

• Climate neutrality and sustainable development

• Urban resilience and innovation

• Energy transition, including offshore renewable energy, smart grids and clean power supply for ships

• Port-city integration and climate-smart maritime operations

• Sustainable urban mobility and integrated transport systems

• Smart infrastructure, innovation and digitalization as accelerators of sustainable urban development

The conference brings together European and local leaders, policy-makers, and experts to explore how port and coastal cities can rapidly advance towards climate neutrality. Participants include representatives from the European Commission, municipalities, national authorities, research institutions, industry, investors and civil society, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships. The event will gather distinguished speakers from leading European academic and research institutions, along with representatives from organizations and stakeholders, sharing best practices, research outcomes, and proposals to accelerate the transition to climate-neutral cities. Opportunities to showcase solutions and innovations with a dedicated booth at the Conference.
