EU Mission Ocean Presidency Conference, September 23-24

Registration is now open for the Mission Ocean EU Presidency Conference, which will take place on 23–24 September 2025 at Nyborg Strand, Denmark. The conference is part of the official programme of the Danish EU Presidency and will highlight Europe’s commitment to the restoration and sustainable management of its ocean and waters.

This Mission Ocean & Waters event is organised by the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in collaboration with DTU and the Ministry of Environment and Gender Equality, with support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. It is supported by the European Commission and will bring together leading voices from the ocean community, including EU Commissioners, researchers, and policymakers from across Europe.

The conference is structured as a consensus-building forum, combining plenary sessions with interactive, moderated parallel working groups sharing key practices and transferable skills. This will provide the setting to co-create a roadmap for the shaping and scale-up of solutions under the EU Mission: Restore Our Ocean & Waters. The roadmap will be developed through a collaborative process involving the European Commission and Mission stakeholders. Action points will be formulated and refined in workshops, and the final version will be formally handed over during the closing session to the Commission and the upcoming EU Presidency for implementation and further development.
