November 13, 2025: The first issue of Science in School published at CERN was released today, following its creation by newly appointed executive editor Nathalie Wössner and editorial assistant Chiara Obermüller. A dedicated IT team made up of experts from both EMBL and CERN ensured a smooth migration of the publication’s technical infrastructure to online formats.

This inaugural online issue features stories about how studying animals can help to better understand human behaviour and about unusual chemical reactions, called oscillating reactions, that are crucial for in certain processes in our bodies and how chemistry has built the basis for our nutritional choices long before we were aware of it.
