Application periods

09.09.2025 – 09.10.2025 15:59 (UTC +3)

What can be funded?

You can apply for support for projects or networks that involve cultural, political, or social activities where children and young people are actively involved.

They should have a say in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the project. Project partners should encourage democratic participation and help children and young people gain more influence. Granted projects can begin 8 weeks after the application deadline.

Examples of eligible projects:

  • Networking: This could include meetings, conferences, workshops, camps, courses, or other activities designed to strengthen partnerships, exchange experiences, and share resources.

  • Production: This includes creating materials like campaigns, reports, artwork, or digital stories to help children and young people better understand their right to participate and influence decisions.

What cannot be funded?

  • Organisations or networks that do not work with or have experience involving children and young people

  • Individual applicants

  • sports organisations

  • Projects aimed at making a financial profit

  • Routine operations, such as purchasing equipment or furniture, or paying salaries unrelated to the project

  • Activities that have already been completed (projects must start at least 8 weeks after the application deadline)

Who can apply?

Grants are available to:

  • Organisations, groups, municipalities, institutions, associations, and networks.

Norden 0-30 supports projects with partners from two or three Nordic countries.

  • For projects with two countries, one of them must be Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, or Åland Islands.

  • For projects with three countries, at least three Nordic countries must participate. This includes Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Åland Islands.

The applicant must live in one of the Nordic countries listed above. They do not have to be young, but they must represent a group that includes or has experience working with children and young people. Cooperation with Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Åland Islands, and the North Calotte (Finnmark, Nordland, Troms in Norway; Norrbotten in Sweden; Lappi region in Finland) is encouraged. Additionally, cooperation with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania can also be included.

How much funding can you apply for?

  • Projects with at least three Nordic countries: Up to 50 000 EUR

  • Projects with two Nordic countries: Up to 10 000 EUR

You must also secure at least 15% of the project funding from other sources, which can include in-kind contributions (non-monetary support such as voluntary work, goods or services). The total funding from Norden 0-30 and similar institutions cannot exceed 85% of the total project costs. Other sources of Nordic funding include the Nordic Culture Fund and NordPlus. “In-kind financing” means the provision of goods or services instead of money, which counts towards project financing. For instance, voluntary work can be included in the budget. The calculations should be specified in the application budget, and the total must be considered reasonable for the completion of the project.
